ADVENTURE AND EXPEDITION SAILING
Join the adventure sailing trip of a lifetime - sail to Australia's magnificent Whitsunday Islands and see the beautiful Queensland coastline. You will join the boat in Mooloolaba on Queensland's Sunshine Coast and from there will head north sailing for 13 days amongst the many reefs and islands that cover this region. With plenty of time on your hands you will be able to explore uninhabited islands, snorkel on coral reefs and swim in sandy lagoons. Your skipper has wealth of knowledge of this area and will be delighted to show off the natural beauty that this stretch of coast is renowned for. After 13 days of island, reef and port hopping you will arrive in the bustling haven of Airlie Beach. Here you will have 2 days break to shop, explore or generally chill out. You can be as active or as lazy as you like - the choice is yours. With many pubs and bars Airlie Beach is well known for its nightlife. Alternately you can take the opportunity to join one of the many SCUBA diving day trips to the Great Barrier Reef. After recharging your batteries you will be back on board and heading south to explore the many destinations that you missed on your way up to Airlie Beach. Take this time to build your nautical skills practising your navigation and helming or relax and read a book. This is not a formally structured course but all of the miles gained on board can be counted as RYA qualifying passages for both Yacht Master Offshore and Yacht Master Ocean. You will arrive back in Mooloolaba amazed by the many sights you have seen and the new friends you have made. You will leave the boat on the 19th of October to set foot on solid ground again. For those with more limited time on their hands you can also choose to do just the passage from Mooloolaba to Airlie Beach or the return from Airlie Beach to Mooloolaba. Each of these is 13 days long and costs 1,300 GBP.
